Sobhna’s began with a mother, her recipes and a daughter who wanted to make sure those recipes were never lost.

For decades, Sobhna cooked the food she grew up with, the kind of Indian food that doesn’t come from a recipe book, but from years of watching, tasting, remembering and knowing. When Nimeesha moved away from her corporate career, she joined her mum in turning those much-loved family recipes into something they could share with more people.

What started at farmers’ markets has grown into Sobhna’s, a proudly New Zealand-made food brand bringing authentic Indian flavours into kitchens across Aotearoa.

Our curry pastes and spice blends are made to make Indian cooking easier, without compromising on the flavour, traditions and techniques that make it so special. They are the flavours we grew up with, made for the way we cook today.

For us, Sobhna’s is about more than food. It is about preserving a piece of our family heritage, celebrating Indian food and culture, and sharing the joy of a meal made with love.
